BERKELEY HALL GOLF LEARNING CENTER - GOLFER'S HEAVEN ON EARTH!!
- The Learning Center
features four indoor hitting bays, club fitting and repair, and a large lounge area, the Fazio Room, for social activity and relaxation. Teaching tools, including an array of state-of-the-art software and the latest video reference equipment, are available to Members.
- The warm-up area, located near the first tee of the North Course, features a large multi-level tee, a 7,000 sq. ft., Crenshaw bentgrass putting green and a separate chipping green with a
practice bunker. A Tift-Eagle Bermuda grass putting green is located near the first tee of the South Course so Members and guests can warm-up on the same putting surface they will encounter during
the round.
- Target greens
framed by white sand bunkers at distances ranging from 100 to 250 yards serve both ends of the facility, and exact yardages to each green from every hitting station are measured and displayed daily.
- The teeing area
includes two large Bermuda grass tiers, a spacious wedge game tee with small, sand target greens at 10-yard intervals, a fairway bunker and a generous lesson tee with its own short-game target green. Once again, exact yardages from each hitting station to every target green are measured daily and laser yardage finders are available for the wedge game area and the short-game complex.
- Members are able to practice and comfortably enjoy the facility year-round. Conveniences include a new "Cover Shots" unit, a mobile canopy structure that allows golfers to practice
outdoors in comfort during hot or inclement weather.
- The short-game complex
consists of three practice greens with bunkers of various depths and degree of difficulty. Players can create shots using a wide variety of slopes, elevations and turf conditions -- including closely cut chipping areas, fairway-height approaches and rough-length grass swales. Areas are provided to practice pitch and lob shots over bunkers and water and wedge shots up to 100 yards in length.
- The design allows Members of all skill levels
to improve their game, and the short-game area is meticulously maintained to simulate the playing conditions found on either the North or South Course.
